Following the row that saw McLaren expelled from the Constructors’ Championship owing to their possession of confidential Ferrari knowledge, the world governing body of motorsport is looking to make sure McLaren is not using any Ferrari technology on its 2008 car - the MP4-23.

The World Motor Sport Council has also announced that there will be a hearing on December 7 at which the findings of this week’s probe will be revealed.

While at Woking, The FIA took a host of CD’s and hard disks to analyse the car, but little other information has been made public with a brief FIA statement reading: “We will not comment on the details of an ongoing investigation.”

McLaren were similarly silent on the matter, a spokeswoman only telling Saytantahsports.com: “We have no comment other than that we will cooperate fully with the FIA.”

“We [Sale] are ambitious, and like every season we are going to try to win the English league again. We also want to win the European Challenge Cup because unfortunately we haven’t been able to qualify for this season’s Heineken Cup.”

The Frenchman plays alongside fellow countrymen Lionel Faure, Sebastein Bruno and Julien Laharrague at Sale, something he believes is a strength of the side.

“It is nice to have all those Frenchmen in the team, it helps me to feel at home,” he added.

Yes. I thought in Week 2 after they destroyed the San Diego Chargers on primetime that they had a great chance. “We will make it if we win the two last games, and I think that we will succeed.
